The public/mathematica cvs directory has been locked (made read-only), 
because the maxima project has moved to the new subversion server. 
You can check it out by running:

'svn checkout https://mathdox.org/svn/repos/public/mathematica'

Anyone is allowed to check it out, but only those with a username and password
are allowed to check in changes. Anyone who had a username/password for the
cvs server, has the same username/password for the new subversion server.
